A comedy anime set in the Showa period, following the lives of the Akanuke family. The story revolves around Tatsuo Akanuke, the eldest son of the family, who is lazy and not very bright. He spends most of his time slacking off and causing trouble, much to the dismay of his hardworking parents and siblings. Despite his flaws, Tatsuo has a big heart and always tries his best to help those around him. Along with his family and friends, he navigates through various misadventures and comedic situations, providing plenty of laughs along the way. Koujirou moves to Tokyo from Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido and insists on bringing his favorite horse, Hikarikin, with him. The alien king Rel arrives from planet Wedelun and gives him a belt that will allow him to transform into a Miracle Hero and to protect the world from alien menaces. He is more interested, however, in impressing the pretty Yuka, though his rival, Michinari, wants her for himself.
